Yes — as drafts for you. You bring in your assessment data and source documents, and Soma
produces a complete, organized draft that you review, edit and sign. The draft is written in
your voice and clinical style, not generic AI language, and each section is checked against
your source documents. You remain the clinician of record.

How does the report generator work?

Four steps: upload a reference report you are happy with (Soma builds your template from it —
your exact sections, reading level, length and voice), upload the case files, review the draft
section by section, then sign and export. The AI drafting step is de-identified and
zero-retention — your clients’ data is never stored by the model or used to train it.

Will the report sound like me?

Yes. Give Soma one of your past reports and it matches your sentence structure, vocabulary and
phrasing, so the draft needs far less editing to sound like you. Because you review, edit and
sign every page, the final report reflects your clinical judgment — not a template’s.

What goes into a report, and does it check scores?

You provide the source documents and clinical input; Soma organizes them into a review-ready
draft with consistent sections, and checks every score it writes against your documents. It is
built to remove the manual assembly of a report, not to replace your clinical judgment.

What if a report is very long?

Accepted Answer

Reports run up to your plan’s page cap, and a long report still counts as one report.
Uploaded files can be up to 500 pages. Revisions, reprompts and edits never count as a new
report.

Can I export reports and notes to Word (DOCX)?

Yes. Reports and notes export as DOCX, so they drop straight into your existing documentation
workflow and your own records system.

What note formats does Soma support?

A library of more than 20 formats: the four standard structures — SOAP, DAP, BIRP and GIRP —
plus freeform progress notes and modality- and population-specific templates (EMDR, DBT, IFS,
couples, play therapy, addiction counselling and more). Custom templates can be built for your
own documentation needs, so the note matches how you actually write.

How does Soma speed up documentation?

Soma produces the first draft so you spend your time reviewing instead of writing from a blank
page. Notes are drafted in minutes from your session transcription, in the format you choose,
and processing data is destroyed after export.

What is Soma’s chat?

Your own private AI agent — it has read the documents in your case and carries out work for
you. Summarize a report, ask what an earlier assessment concluded, draft a letter. It chats
about your documents, drafts what you ask, and runs your workflow. The conversation is
ephemeral — nothing from it is stored, and it never trains on your clients’ data.

Who owns the information I bring into Soma?

You do. Documents, notes, chats and drafts remain your information and your clients’
information. Soma is a tool you use to work on it, not a party that acquires it. We never sell
it, never share it with third parties for their own purposes, and when you delete something it
is genuinely removed, not archived for our benefit.

Do you sell data to anyone?

No. Soma does not sell, trade, or monetize personal, health, or usage data. Third parties are
involved only to deliver the service itself, under strict confidentiality and data-protection
agreements — zero retention, and no training on your data.

Question 15

Where is my clients’ information stored?

Accepted Answer

In Canada. Documents, notes, chats and drafts live encrypted in Canadian data centres, and the
de-identification step that protects them runs in Canada too. The most sensitive content
carries an additional layer of encryption with keys we hold, not our infrastructure providers.

Does the AI ever see identifying details?

Accepted Answer

No. Identifying details — names, dates of birth, contact details, health card and file
numbers, addresses — are removed before any AI model sees your text, and replaced with
placeholders. Documents are de-identified when they arrive, and you review and confirm the
redactions yourself before content goes anywhere: automatic detection is good, not perfect,
and your confirmation is what turns a claim into a process. Do your part as well: refer to
clients by alias, never by name, in chat and anywhere you type in Soma.

Question 17

Does Soma store my clients’ names?

Accepted Answer

No. Soma never asks for a client’s name and the product has nowhere to put one. Cases
are titled by you — a file number or a label. Recordings are grouped under an alias. Documents
are de-identified for your review before anything is drafted from them. What you type is up to
you, which is why keeping names out is part of the workflow rather than a promise made on your
behalf.

Question 18

Who can see my cases?

Accepted Answer

You. Your workspace is yours alone — other clinicians cannot see your cases, and there is no
sharing feature that could expose them by accident. On our side, nobody browses customer
content: sensitive content is encrypted, our staff work from system logs and error reports
that are filtered so they cannot quote your text, and any access for support happens with your
knowledge.

How long is my work kept?

Accepted Answer

By default, 30 days after you last touch something — and you can shorten or lengthen that in
your settings. Soma is a temporary workspace by design, so forgetting is a feature. A daily
sweep removes chats, cases and drafts that have passed your retention window — the stored
content itself, not just the listing. Each case shows the date it would clear, so nothing
disappears without having said so first.

What happens when I delete something?

It is removed from our systems immediately — the content, not just the entry in a list. There
is no recycle bin and no “soft delete” that quietly keeps things. Deletion is
permanent and there is no recovery: that is the point of it. Export finished work into your
own records while the case is live.

Question 21

What is my role under privacy law?

Accepted Answer

Under PIPEDA and provincial health privacy law, you remain the custodian of your
clients’ information — Soma is a service provider processing it on your instructions.
Our end: Canadian storage and processing, encryption, de-identification before AI, access
controls, retention that actually deletes, breach monitoring, and no secondary use of your
data. Your end: custody of the finished record, and any client consent your practice and its
regulatory context call for.

What if something goes wrong?

We plan for it rather than pretend it cannot happen. The design rule is that failure defaults
to safe: if de-identification is unavailable, messages are refused rather than sent raw, and
if a document cannot be verified as redacted, it does not move forward. Monitoring runs on our
own infrastructure, with error reports filtered so they cannot quote your content. And your
review step exists precisely because no automated safeguard is perfect. If an incident ever
affects your data, you hear it from us — promptly, plainly, and with what it means for
you, in line with PIPEDA’s breach requirements.

Is my data used to train AI?

Accepted Answer

No outside AI provider ever trains on your data — that is contractual, and it is Section 11.4
of our Terms of Service. Your clients’ data is never used to train any model, ours or
anyone else’s — identifiable or anonymized. Soma may use anonymized, aggregated data to
improve its own, non-third-party models — never client content — as permitted by
Section 4.5 of the same Terms.

What was the AI trained on?

Soma builds on established enterprise large-language models trained by their providers on
publicly available and licensed datasets. Soma’s own components are trained exclusively
on anonymized, aggregated data — never on client content. Soma has not released
any model trained on user data.

Can I train the AI on my own preferences?

Accepted Answer

Not directly, yet. Your templates and editing patterns shape how Soma adapts to your workflow,
and personalized preferences — note structure, terminology — and memory are in active development.

Question 26

Are some populations underrepresented in AI systems?

Accepted Answer

Like most large AI systems, underlying training data may underrepresent certain cultures,
languages, or marginalized groups. Soma is actively building validation methods — including
practitioner surveys — to identify and address bias or blind spots. Your clinical review of
every draft is, deliberately, part of the safeguard — and please use the feedback system
inside Soma to make us aware of the changes you would like to see.

Does Soma diagnose, predict, or recommend treatment?

Accepted Answer

No. Soma does not suggest or infer diagnoses, does not predict outcomes, and does not generate
treatment recommendations. Its job is drafting and documentation. Anything that reads as
clinical opinion is a draft for your review — clinical judgment stays where it belongs, with
you.

Does the AI act on its own?

Accepted Answer

No. Soma’s AI has no independent agency. It generates content only in response to your
instruction, cannot initiate actions, and cannot make decisions. Every output is subject to
your review and approval before use.

How accurate are the drafts?

We believe Soma produces the best first draft you can get from software — well-structured,
grounded in your own documents and templates, and close enough to done that most drafts need
little editing. Early results bear that out, and every release raises the bar. It remains a
drafting aid, not a substitute for professional judgment: all AI can make mistakes, so review
everything before it enters a clinical or client-facing context.

Can I close my laptop in the middle of a report?

Yes. Report generation runs on our servers, not in your browser — close the tab, come back
tomorrow. Sections are written and saved one at a time, so progress is never lost, and a
stalled report can be resumed without losing anything already written. Recording a session is
the one exception: that runs in the browser, so leaving the page ends the recording.

Is Soma my clinical record system?

Accepted Answer

No — and it should not be. Soma is where the work gets drafted; your records system is where
the finished work lives. Everything in Soma clears itself after your retention window, and
nothing in it satisfies a record-keeping obligation on its own. When a draft is done, export
it and file it where your records live.

Can US clinicians use Soma?

Today Soma serves Canadian practice, with residency, de-identification and retention built
around PIPEDA and provincial health privacy law. A US offering is planned, and the platform
was designed for it — the same safeguards, deployed for US requirements, with the compliance
work done properly rather than bolted on.
